Fossil Finders

Fossil Finders is a group of women writers whose work ranges from poetry to fiction, children's books to epic adventures. We share a common love of the written word and desire to publish our work. We support each other by encouraging and improving one another's skills. We meet regularly in person or by email, and stay motivated via this web page.

This group is intended to inspire, motivate, and encourage writers of all types. There are no requirements to participate in activities or workshops—it's structured so you get out of it what you put into it. We do commit to reviewing one draft per draft we submit for critique.

Monthly Activities

The current month's activities are there to help inspire you, motivate you, and get you over your current hump. There are no assignments in this group. You do what you want to, and have time for. The current month's activity will always be in the right navigation of this page, but I'll also provide access to all previous activities, in case you miss one, or find one particularly helpful and want to review it.

Monthly Workshops

We hold two-hour workshops once a month so we can delve further into our craft. Some example topics are:

Encouragement and Support
When You Need It

More than the activities or workshops, the inspiration of this group comes from its members. We are a support system, and commit to staying in regular contact, even if we're not participating in the activities. We critique other members' writing via email or hard copy, and get out of the group what we put into it.
